Statement from TOBA President Dan Metzger on the passing of Peter S. Willmott
TOBA mourns the loss of Pete Willmott, a beloved and highly respected owner and leader in Thoroughbred racing. During his nearly two decades on the TOBA Board of Trustees, Pete served as chairman of the association, as well as chairman of the American Graded Stakes Committee. Pete’s integrity, passion and commitment to the sport left an indelible legacy on TOBA and everyone associated with it. On behalf of TOBA, we extend our deepest condolences to Pete’s wife Michele, his children Cindy, Sarah, John, David, Audrey, Matthew, and Christopher, his eight grandchildren and his brother Clark and sister Lesley and his entire family.
The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA), based in Lexington, Ky., was formed in 1961 and is a national trade organization of leading Thoroughbred owners and breeders.
