The Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards presented by Godolphin recognize and reward the outstanding talent, diligence and commitment of the farm and racing stable staff who are at the heart of our sport.

The awards themselves are separated into six distinct categories which carry a total prize-pool of $128,000, along with specially commissioned trophies for the winners.

Today was a very special clinic spent in Maryland. We spent the morning Sagamore Racing watching their horses train, hearing from their staff, learning their history and getting an exclusive invitation to their brand new farm water sourced Sagamore Spirit distillery.

Even more special - we learned that the original property owned by Mr. Vanderbilt is where Native Dancer is buried and we had breakfast in the barn where he stood stud after retirement. One of our guests was the daughter of Native Dancer's rider, pictured here.

We had lunch Glyndon Grill in by pure coincidence the Sagamore Room which was graciously sponsored by Maryland Thoroughbred, who got us all excited about the Fasig-Tipton Maryland sale, the Black Eyed Susan and of course Preakness Stakes

We even had a very happy aftercare story when we rehomed an OTTB during the clinic from a presenter to an attendee!
