Member of the Month
Hardacre Farm’s Amy Tarrant
For Amy Tarrant, life imitates racetrack success-aptly demonstrated in this case by Life Imitates Art, whom she bred at her Hardacre Farm in Ocala, Florida. Owned by Klaravich Stables and William H. Lawrence, the three-year-old colt (More Than Ready – Habiboo, by Unbridled’s Song) has put his best hoof forward in 2016, winning the seven-and-a-half furlong Dania Beach Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Gulfstream Park on January 2. Most recently, he finished fifth in the January 30 Kitten’s Joy Stakes, also at Gulfstream.

March 1, Pedigree & Conformation Clinic Recap
On Monday, March 1, 20 attendees met for the first TOBA-hosted clinic of the year at Gulfstream Park. The crowd consisted of novices who had never attended a Thoroughbred auction before, to people with already established racing, breeding and pinhooking operations. Our contingent also included young professionals to third generation horsemen – calling Venezuela to France and Texas to Connecticut home.
We had a full day of rail side workouts, backside conformation demonstrations, trainers, vets and of course, two-year-old analysis and sales procedures.
The day concluded with the Fasig Tipton sales reception in the Gulfstream Park paddock and a great time and new connections were made by all.
Did you miss the clinic? TOBA hosts numerous events throughout the country during the year. Sign up for our next one now at www.toba.org

The board of directors of the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium (RMTC) voted to approve several important recommendations from its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and Horseracing Testing Laboratories Committee (HTLC) at its February 23 meeting at Gulfstream Park. The Board also received an encouraging report on the significant nationwide adoption progress of the National Uniform Medication Program – highlighted by the update that states which have implemented the Controlled Therapeutic Substances (CTS) list now represent more than 90% of the U.S. handle.
